The Monroe Advertiser, 8 August 1902
Mrs. E. W. Clark
     Mrs. E. W. Clark died at her home in Columbus, Ga., last Saturday night.  
She was the daughter of Mr. W. H. Thurmond, and her youthful days were passed 
in this county.  She leaves a devoted husband and six children.  At Forsyth, 
at Columbus and in other parts of the state she leaves a host of friends and 
relatives who knew her only to love her and whose hearts are bowed down with 
sorrow at her going away.
     We join in sympathy with those who are bereft of this dear one.

Additional Comments:
Amanda Bethina (Thurmond) Clark is buried at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, 
Muscogee Co., GA.  She was the daughter of William Harrison Thurmond, Jr. and 
Amanda Jane (Buff) Thurmond.
