B.L. Hencely, a well known and popular former citizen of Monroe county passed away at his home in Macon, Friday night. He was 84 years old and had been an invalid for several years. He was an upright and useful citizen and highly regarded by a host of friends throughout this section. Mr. Hencely was married twice and is survived by his wife and three children of his second marriage and six children of his first marriage. The children are Janie, Fuller and Wiley Hencely, Mrs. C.C. Lunsford, Mrs. J.A. Spear, Mrs. J. Williamson, Mrs. E.C. Bowdoin, Mr. Zena Hencely and Miss Elizabeth hencely. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted at 11:00 o'clock Sunday morning at Maynards Baptist Church by Rev. Crowder Mays of Macon, assisted by Dr. P.F. Davis, and interment was in the church cemetery. The six grandsons who acted as pallbearers were Messrs Fred Lunceford, Bennie Spear, Doyle Spear, J.B. Williamson, Julian Bowdoin and Robert Hencely. Arrangements were in charge of the Bramblett Funeral Home.
