She had been blind for five years and in her advanced age, being more than 90 years old, it was realized that every chance was against her. Mrs. Sykes for fifty-six years had been a loyal and faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Her beloved pastor, Rev. Wyatt Childs, conducted the service at the home last Saturday, the body being buried in the Sykes Cemetery. She is survived by four children; Mrs. Emma Wilson, with whom she lived, Mrs. Aderholt of Richmond, Ky., Mr. W. J. Sykes, who lives in Redbone District, and Mr. Milledge Sykes of Texas. Physicians, members of the family and friends and neighbors extended her every possible assistance and kindness during her illness.
