GA 18 Aug 1966 Last Rites for Mrs. Essie Eagan Sutton Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Eagan Sutton, 90, of Forsyth, who died unexpectedly in the Monroe County hospital Friday, were held at 3 P.M. in the Forsyth Methodist Church. Burial was in the city cemetery. The Rev. John A. Lindsey officiated. Mrs. Sutton was a native of Nashville, Tenn., and came to Forsyth in 1900. She was the oldest active member of the Forsyth Methodist Church, and was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Monroe county system for 25 years. She was a member of the Cabanias Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. The widow of the late George A. Sutton, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H. L. Langford of Forsyth, a son-in-law, T. C. Burton, Toccoa, a granddaughter, Mrs. Marie Burton Donnald and two great-grandchildren of St. Simons. The family requested that flowers be omitted. The pallbearers were Jimmie Watkins, Walker Waldrep, Malcolm Smith, R. O. Persons, Sr., Mallory Rumble and Lawton Cater.
