Thurman Forsyth - Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie Goodrum Thurman, 86, of Forsyth, who died Saturday at a nursin ghome after a long illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church near Forsyth. The Rev. Lowell Eaton and Rev. J. C. Mcgaha will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Thurman was a native of Monroe County and had lived here all of her life. She was a member of the Tabernacle Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. R. H. Smith, Jr. of Texarkana, Ark., Mrs. Ben Sheppard of Forsyth and Miss Evelyn Maddox of Atlanta; one brother, Ponder Goodrum of Forsyth. Andrew A. Dillon Funeral Home of Forsyth is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Nannie was born 11 February 1879 in Monroe Co., GA, the daughter of Thomas J. Goodrum and Mary Henrietta Elizabeth (Childs) Goodrum. She first married William A. Maddox ca 1906. On 4 January 1922 in Monroe Co., she married George Franklin "Frank" Thurmond, the son of William Harrison Thurmond, Jr. and Amanda Jane (Buff) Thurmond.
