E. Thurmond Mrs. Warren E. Thurmond, 89, 317 Fourth St., N. E., died Tuesday in an Atlanta hospital. Mrs. Thurmond was the former Mary Elizabeth Means, a native of Barnesville, Ga. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J. Watt Womack, Reidsville, N. C., and Mrs. J. Emmett Miller, Atlanta; three sons, Thomas E. Thurmond, Brookhaven; L. E. Thurmond, Atlanta, and Warren C. Thurmond, Athens; a sister, Mrs. Robert Hamlin, Barnesville; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: Mary Elizabeth (Means) Thurmond was born Sept. 1863/64, the daughter of James Anderson Means and Elizabeth Ann (Allen) Means. On 16 December 1884 in Monroe Co., GA, She married Warren Edward Thurmond, son of William Harrison Thurmond, Jr. and Amanda Jane (Buff) Thurmond.
