Death of Mrs. Sam Wilson
     Sunday afternoon last, at her home near Strouds, Mrs. Ella Thurmond 
Wilson, wife of Dr. Sam Wilson, departed this life after several weeks of 
patient suffering, borne with Christ-like fortitude and a consciousness of 
slight hopes of recovery.  Mrs. Wilson was an admirable woman, possessed of 
all those beautiful, tender, gentle and sweet virtues which makes the life of 
a noble woman the synonym of all that is true, beautiful and good in human 
character.  We knew her as Miss Ella Thurmond--a girl in the school-room whose 
modest deportment, sweet disposition and lovable kindly nature won the esteem 
and lasting friendship of her associates and teachers.  A consistent member of 
the Methodist church from early girlhood, she lived the religion she 
professed, and dying in the maturity of womanhood she bequeaths, to her church 
and dear odes, a life record that breathes and [sic] aroma of comfort to 
mitigate their grief and entice them to emulate her noble example of right-
living.
     Funeral exercises were conducted at the home of her father by Rev. B. H. 
Trammell, Monday afternoon in the presence of a large concourse of friends and 
relatives of the deceased.  The remains were interred in the family burying 
ground.  First to die of a family of twenty children, she leaves aged parents, 
brothers and sisters; three small children, one of whom is an infant, to share 
the grief of her husband.  We extend sympathy and condolence to the bereaved 
ones.
