HAYNES, John Wood

born: April 30, 1848, in Monroe County, GA 
died: January 5, 1919, in Dallas, Texas 
He was fifth and youngest child of Flora (McCurry) Haynes and Charles W. Haynes. 
His Daddy, Charles, had died six months before the birth of John. 

As a teenager, John Wood Haynes served as a private Company A, 
35th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry. 

He married Quincey Annie Wofford (1852 - 1934) from Pickens County Georgia 
on April 28, 1870. They produced 12 known children, including my own 
Grandmother, Quincey Irene (Haynes) Hummel.
