The wedding had been announced to take place in June, but when they met in Macon they decided to surprise their friends with an early marriage. Miss Means has been a popular teacher in the Hampton High School for the past two years and her many friends regret that her marriage will take her from this section of the state to live. Mr. Smallwood is one of South Georgia's prominent business men. After a short trip they are at home in Attapulgus. Mrs. Smallwood is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Means.
