Item 1st-Having in my last will nominated and appointed my wife Nancy Ann Maddox,my excutor,and my son Edward F.Maddox one of my excutor.I now for satifactory to myself nominate and appoint my friend William D.Stone as another of my excutor to excute my said last will and this codicil,in connection with said person herefore appointed. Item 2nd-I desire and bequeath to my said son Edward Maddox my double case where watch,which I now wear and use myself.I desire that my excutor shall not charge the value of said watch against my said son Edward nor shall he amount for the value of the same to my estate,as the same is a gift over and above what I have herefore given him. Item 3rd-I give qnd bequeath to my son James M.Maddox,one silver dollar made in 1775 with following words thereon to wit:Del Gratia Carolus III;and on the reverse side there of the following ;Hispan.ET.Ind.R.M.F.M.said coin was recieved by my grandfather Samuel Maddox,for his services as a soldier in the Revolutionary War;and by him given to my father and to me.Now I desire that my said son James shall keep said coin,in his prosession ,during life and at his death give the same to his oldest son with request that the same shall be kept in this line of the family as long as the family and name exist. Item 4th-As a guide and aid to my excutors in winding my estate,I desire to estate,that all the debts I owe to any human being on the earth is one note of sixty-five dollars due in the winter of 1885,and one note due this fall 1885 for $47.00 forty seven dollars and fifty cents,which two notes,if I live.I excepted to pay when due,also a few small amounts not amountings to more than ten or twelve dollars,which I expect and am ready to pay when called upon to do. In addition to the above to the above I have also become aspossible for about eighteen dollars for my son-in-law John Rose,which I expect to see paid this winter.
