J.F. Clarke, 82, Confederate Vet, Dies At Uvalda

Uvalda, Ga., November 13 – J.F. Clarke, 82, Confederate veteran died at his 
home near here this afternoon.

He fought through the Confederate war and has been a member of the Methodist 
church for more than half a century.

He is survived by his widow, four sons, W.N. of Barberville, Fla.; D.F. of 
Greenville, S.C.; S.J. of Vidalia; H.F. Clarke of Waleska, and two daughters, 
Mrs. H.D. Johnson, of Uvalda and Mrs. Sydney Dinkins.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Longpond, Rev. L.E. Bradley 
of Mount Vernon, and Rev. E.C. Dowdy, of Uvalda, conducting.
