Coleman, Tarrytown SOPERTON, Ga., Nov. 4--- George Leland Coleman, 52, Tarrytown, died in a Macon hospital early this morning after a short illness. A life-time resident of Montgomery County, he was a son of the late George W. and Joanna Tyson Coleman. He was a bridge foreman for the State Highway Dept. and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm Friday at the Tarrytown Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Mays, Macon, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Vera Mae Burns two sons, L. E. Coleman, Mt. Vernon and George Coleman, Folkston; three daughters, Mrs. Clifton Gowen, Folkston, Mrs. Bill Barrs, Chester, and Miss Joan Coleman, Tarrytown; two sisters, Mrs. C. H. Goff, Uvalda and Mrs. Effie Mayfield, Reidsville; and seven grandchildren. The body will be at the family residence until the hour of the funeral. Additional Comments: George was born 1 Jun 1902.
