Coleman TARRYTOWN---- Mrs. Vera Mae Coleman, 74, of Tarrytown, died at Treutlen County Hospital in Soperton Wednesday after a short illness. The Washington County native had lived in Montgomery County for 60 years and was a member of Tarrytown Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, L. E. (Shotgun) Coleman of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Bill Barrs of Dexter, Mrs. Clifton Gowen of Folkston and Mrs. Bobby Claxton of Soperton; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Williamson of Tarrytown and Mrs. Morris Ricks of Soperton; two brothers, Woodrow Burns of Hardeeville, SC and Lyman Burns of St. Augustine, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3pm at Tarrytown Baptist Church. Burial will be at Tarrytown Cemetery. Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton is in charge. Additional Comments: Vera was born 5 Nov 1896 to Mark Eugene Burns and Minnie Lee Fulgum Burns. Her husband was George Leland Coleman who is also buried at Tarrytown Cemetery.
