Lawrence, 71, wife of former Montgomery County Commission Chairman, Ezra T. Lawrence, of Route 1, Mt. Vernon died Friday at Meadows Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, a housewife and a member of Long Pond Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 28th at 2:00PM at the Long Pond Baptist Church, Rev. W. E. Flanders and Rev. Bob Brewer officiated. Burial followed in Walker Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Ezra T. Lawrence of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Francis Roberson of Brunswick and Mrs. Ruth Durden of Uvalda; seven sons, Buddy Lawrence of Vidalia, Sylvester Lawrence, Farris Lawrence, both of Glenwood, Wilbert Lawrence, Brunswick, Harold Lawrence of Atlanta, and Edward and Barry Lawrence of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Wood of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Lola Frost of Hazelhurst, and Mrs. Nora Cooper of Pavo; and three brothers, Roe Smith of Panama City, George Smith of Hazelhurst, and Harvey Smith of Soperton. Grandsons served as pallbearers: Donald Roberson, Clyde Roberson, David Roberson, Olean Roberson, Kenneth Johnson and Jesse Wilhite. Honorary pallbearers were Archie Johnson, Jim A. McArthur, R. L. Manning, Green Thigpen, George L. Adams, and Tommy L. McArthur. Jerry W. Grimes Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: She was born 10-18-1909.
