                           Ezra T. Lawrence
 Ezra T. Lawrence, 75, of Route 1, Mt. Vernon, died in a Brunswick hospital 
Saturday morning, August 24, 1985, after a long illness.
 Mr. Lawrence was born in Laurens County but had lived most of his life in 
Montgomery County. He was the son of the late Walter Daniel Lawrence and Mrs. 
Eudell Foskey Lawrence. He was married to the late Mrs. Loni Caroline Smith 
Lawrence.
 From 1972 through 1980, Mr. Lawrence served as a Montgomery County 
commissioner. He was a member of the Long Pond Baptist Church and the Mt. 
Vernon Masonic Lodge.
 Survivors include five sons, Willie T. Lawrence of Vidalia, Slyvester 
Lawrence of Glenwood, Farris Lawrence of Uvalda, Wilbert Arthur Lawrence of 
Brunswick, Harold Eugene Lawrence of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth 
Durden of Uvalda and Mrs. Frances Roberson of Canton; four sisters, Mrs. 
Louise O'Connor, Mrs. Ethel O'Connor, and Mrs. Leona Tapley of Mt. Vernon, and 
Mrs. Vitas Baker of Douglas; a brother, Mack Lawrence of Ailey; twenty-one 
grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were conducted in Long Pond Baptist Church at 2 o'clock 
Monday afternoon, August 26, with Rev. W. E. Flanders officiating. Burial was 
in the Walker Cemetery in Montgomery County.
 Masons served as pallbearers and conducted Masonic Rites at the graveside. 
Sammons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
