Doggett at her home. The tragedy arose over possession of the child of the Whites, who had been separated for some time. In the occurrence White shot at his wife with a pistol, but missed her and the bullet struck Mrs. Doggett, inflicting a death wound. White immediately made his escape in an automobile and drove by Booth's gas station in the edge of Madison, and purchased two gallons of gas, an hour later returning and buying two more gallons. He had not been apprehended as we go to press. Mr. and Mrs. Doggett formerly resided at Apalachee, he being section forman on the Central railroad, and are remembered by many of our people. Doggett was the former Nancy A Brown, married to William Shade Doggett, son of William Young Doggett and grandson of Shadrach Doggett and Jane Vickers.
