To everybody here she was loved and called "Grandma." She and "Grandpa" had walked together for sixty-three years. They came in to our midst something like twenty years ago. Since then they have been lovingly known to everybody as "Grandma" and "Grandpa." The end came so quietly and peacefully that those watching hardly knew when she left, on Tuesday afternoon about 3:30 at her home. The subject of our sketch was Miss Parmelia Victoria Winslett, of Putnam county, born there Feb. 18, 1854. In November 1872 she was happily married to Mr. Roe Copelan, of Greene county. to this union was born four boys and one girl, one son and daughter preceded her to the glory world. She leaves her husband and three sons, Thad, Alcester and Carey. Miss Sue Manie. Additional Comments: According to tax records, Roe and Permelia Copelan moved into Morgan County in late 1923 or early 1924. A separate obituary was also published in the same issue.
