S. Doggett, at her home near Watkinsville, on Sept., 14th, was captured near Albany, Ga., on Thursday, and brought back to Athens jail for safe keeping by Sheriff Crowley, of Oconee county. White has been in hiding in an old house near a relative since the commission of the crime, and still held the pistol with which he did the shooting. He was surrounded in the house, upon being reported, and found in bed, but offered no resistance to ar4rest. White claims he shot Mrs. Doggett in self-defense, believing she was attempting to shoot him, but the facts show the woman had no pistol either in hand or house. He will be held for trial without bond.
