MRS. MORGAN DEAD

  Saturday night last about nine o'clock occurred the death of Mrs. Hulme 
Morgan at her home on North Main street.  She had been in failing health for a 
long while and her death was not unexpected.
  The funeral occurred from the late home Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, 
conducted by Rev. T. R. Kendall, Jr.  The services were largely attended by 
relatives and sympathizing friends.  A quartet composed of Messrs. Usher 
Boughton, E. H. Wise, E. G. Atkinson and Frank Ozburn sang favorite hymns, with 
Mr. Neil Vason accompanist.
  There were many beautiful flowers, made up into many artistic designs.
  The pall bearers were Messrs. P. W. Reid, P. S. Burney, Jr., Ed Fears, Lee 
Trammell, Tom Holland, E. G. Atkinson, P. N. Little and T. M. Douglas.
  Interment was in the family lot of the city cemetery, with W. C. Hemperley in 
charge.
  Mrs. Morgan was about forty-eight years of age, and a native of Greene 
county.  Her maiden name was Victoria Cone Gresham.  Besides her husband, Mr. 
J. Hulme Morgan, and two daughters, Mrs. John Orr, of New Orleans, and Mrs. 
Butler Atkinson, of Madison, she is survived by a brother, Mr. Stokes Gresham, 
of Union Point and three sisters -- Mrs. R. F. Ingram, of Atlanta, Mrs. 
Talfourd Smith, of Athens, and Mrs. Walter Little, of Greensboro.
  Mrs. Morgan was an exceedingly attractive and lovable lady, and her family 
have the sympathy of all who knew her, in their bereavement.  She was a member 
of the Madison Presbyterian church.
