On Monday night last about eight o'clock at the home of her mother on South Main Street occurred the death of Miss Ethel Mallory. She had been sick a long while, and her death was not unexpected. Death came as a relief to her sufferings. The funeral services were held from the late home Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. H. B. Mays of the Methodist Church. The choir rendered several favorite hymns-"Beautiful Isle," "My Fathers Knows." and "Saved by Grace," and the service was a very beautiful one. There were many beautiful floral offerings from loving friends. The pall bearers were Messrs. W. E. Shepherd, Frank Austin, P.W. Reid, and W. C. Thompson. The remains were carried to Mallory Chapel and interred in the family burial lot. Rev. Roark conducting the services at the grave. The deceased was 36 years of age and was the daughter of the late A. H. Mallory and Mrs. Sudie Mallory, who survives her. She was born and reared at the old home near Mallory Chapel, moving to Madison with her mother several years ago. Besides her mother she is survived by a sister, Miss Joe Lee Mallory, and two brothers, Messrs, Pierce and Sansom Mallory, all of this city, besides a large number of relatives and friends. Miss Ethel was an exceedingly kind, gentle and lovable young woman, and the Madisonian sympathizes with those who mourn because of her death.
