Mrs. Mallory, widow of the late Gus Mallory, of the Mallory Chapel community, Morgan County, was a most charming woman, and since the death of her husband some few years ago she, with her children, Messrs. Pierce, Sansome and Misses Ethel and Joe Lee Mallory, had been living in Madison. Miss Ethel, a most excellent young woman, preceded her to the grave my a few years. Born of excellent parentage, Mr. and Mrs. George Turnell, Mrs. Mallory was well and beautifully reared. From childhood days, some of which were spent in Monroe, where she attended school. Mrs. Mallory was one of the purest and best characters of all this section. When quite young she was converted and joined the Methodist church. She was for years a mainstay of the historic Mallory Chapel, serving as stewardess for years. The writer, having served her church for four years, was in position to know something of her devotion to duty, faith in an unfailing Christ and her unshaken faith in the doctrines of the church of her choice. When a citizen of the community from which she moved to Madison, this good woman's home was the gathering place of hundreds of good people who held her and family in the most generous and tender esteem, and because of her and other members of her family, her church was the very Bethel to many who had found the Christ and who were seeking His precious grace to know. Mrs. Mallory had been afflicted for some months, but critically ill but a short time. She was advancing in years and age, with a complication of troubles, hastened the end to a charming life, so far as this world is concerned, but gave grace and beauty to it in the beginning of the eternity that she shall spend in Heaven among the redeemed. The funeral and burial of Mrs. Mallory took place today and was largely attended. Many and beautiful were the floral offerings from those she lived and those who loved her. May she rest in the sweetest peace and may the kindly hand that never fails lead her loved ones through the shadows----The Walton News.
