A. Copelan Passes At Rutledge Home Funeral services for William A. Copelan, 66, who passed away at his home in Rutledge on October 12, were held Friday from the Rutledge Baptist Church. Mr. Copelan, was born and reared in Greene County, but had lived in Morgan County for the past 30 years. Besides his wife, Mrs. Nettie Baugh Copelan, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alfonso Sidwell, Apalachee, Mrs. R. H. Wiley, Rutledge and Mrs. A. D. Doggett, Atlanta; four sons, Willie M. Copelan, Abbeville, S. C., Carey E. Copelan, Porterdale, James C. Copelan, Cannon Falls, S. C. and Sgt. Julian A. Copelan, Ft. Benning, one brother and eighteen grandchildren. Internment was in Greensboro Cemetery with the E. L. Almand Company in charge. Additional Comments: My grandfather. Obituary as transcribed includes all error in the original, including punctuation.
