Banner, Athens, GA December 8, 1916

Mr. Peter W. Walton
  is dead at Madison 

(Special to the Banner) 

Madison, GA., Dec. 7 -Mr. Peter W. Walton, one of the oldest and most prominent 
citizens of Madison, GA., died today.

Mr. Walton, who was in apparent good health this afternoon, was riding in his 
buggy several miles from Madison, was stricken with Heart failure, and fell out 
of the buggy, being found dead a very few minutes afterwards. 

Mr. Walton was the father of Mrs. Julian B. McCurry, of Hartwell.   Mr. and 
Mrs. McCurry, and Miss Walton, sister of Mrs. McCurry, passed through Athens 
last night to Madison, called there by news of the death of Mr. Walton.
