ARMSTRONG Was Native of Morgan County and well known. The many friends of Mr. W. H. Armstrong will learn with regret of his death which occurred in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Monday the 19th inst. He was an engineer on the Mobile & Ohio railroad and his death was caused by his engine running into a washout. The engine was turned over on him and his fireman. Mr. Armstrong lived for six hours pinned to the ground under his engine and was conscious when removed. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Armstrong, of Morgan county. He was about 35 years of age. In speaking of the death of Mr. Armstrong the Madison Advertiser says: "Willie Armstrong was a noble young man, full of all those upright and sterling impulse which go to make up a true man. He was idolized by his parents and brothers and sisters, who are crushed beneath the blow, and to whom all friends and acquaintances look upon with the most tender sympathy." Mr. Armstrong was a brother of Mrs. Luke Robinson of this city. The interment was at Folk Chapel, Morgan county on Wednesday, the 21st, and was largely attended.
