ROE COPELAN DIES TUESDAY AFTER SHORT ILLNESS. BURIAL AT GREENSBORO. Tuesday at her home near Centennial church occurred the death of Mrs. Roe Copelan at the advanced age of 82 years. She had only been sick a few days, and death came about as a result of breakdown of the vital forces. Funeral was held Thursday at noon at the Hemperley chapel, services conducted by Rev. W. S. Adams and Rev. Zach Hayes. Interment was in the Greensboro cemetary, Hemperley Undertaking Co. in charge. The deceased was born of an old and distinguished Putnam county family -- the Winsletts. As Miss Parmelia Winslett she married Mr. Roe Copelan in early life. He survives her with three sons -- Cary C. Copelan, of Griffin, Thad Copelan, Madison, and Alcester Copelan, Rutledge. A brother, Mr. Arthur Winslett, lives in Greensboro. The deceased was a member of the Greensboro Baptist church and was greatly loved by all who knew her. Additional Comments: Her and her husband's gravesite in Greensboro Cemetery has no headstone or marker at this time.
