Sidwell Dies at Apalachee Mr. John Thomas Sidwell died Tuesday, August 13th after an illness of about two years. Mr. Sidwell was in his 74th year and has been an honored citizen of Apalachee for many years. He was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Sidwell survives as do two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Ruark, of Bostwick, and Mrs. Rosie Almand, of Union Point. Mr. Sidwell was the father of 12 children of whom 11 still live, these being Thompson Sidwell, Miss Lois Sidwell, M.A. Sidwell, Alfonso Sidwell, J.C. Sidwell, and Mrs. Laverne Lovern, of Apalachee; Mrs. L.R. Beal, Mrs. J.C. Whitten and E.B. Sidwell, of Fitzgerald, Stanley Sidwell, of Greensboro, Mrs. H.G. Howard, Monroe; Mrs. Frank McRee, of Buckhead. The funeral services were held Wednesday, August 14th at the home, Rev. Tidwell and Rev. F.E. Jenkins officiating. W.C. Hemperley was funeral director in charge. He has fought a good fight on life's battle ground and has gone West now to join the "innumerable caravan" gone on before. To the living we offer sympathy and for the one who has passed on, our hope, nay belief, that he has won a victor's crown.
