DEATH OF W. A. WINSLETT

   The death angel visted the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Winslett on January 
5th and called Mr. Winslett, who had been in bad health for the past year.  He 
was able to be up among his friends and family though until three weeks before 
his death when he had a stroke of paralysis and was confined to his bed and 
seriously ill until his death.
   Mr. Winslett was 71 years old.  He was born in Putnam county, Ga.  He has 
been a resident of Buckhead, having run the hotel here for 8 years and serving 
as policeman part of that time.  He also was watchman at the Georgia Railroad 
station here and was known and liked by all of the railroad men, not only by 
them but by all that knew him.  He was always ready to help any one he saw 
that was in need.
   Mr. Winslett is survived by his widow, five daughters and one son.  They 
are Mr. J. L. Daus, Social Circle; Miss Mattie Winslett and Mrs. C. M. Butler, 
of Atlanta; W. G. Winslett, U. S. A., San Antonia, Texas; Mrs. W. P. Rickard, 
Tampa, Fla., and Miss Kittie Mae Winslett, of Buckhead.
   The funeral was held at Baptist church of Buckhead, Rev. Rogers, of Social 
Circle, gave a very impressive talk.  Mrs Effie Adams and Mr. G. A. Stewart 
sang very sweetly "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "The Home Over There," with 
Mrs. H. C. McWhorter at the piano.
   The pall bearers were Messrs. W. G. Winslett, C. M. Butler, Thad Copeland, 
E. s. Alford, C. S. Winslett and C. G. Askew.
   Interment was in Buckhead cemeter.
