C. S. WINSLETT C. S. Winslett, 72, prominent Bibb county farmer and father of Usher T. Winslett, county tax collector, died early last night in a local hospital where he had been in a critical condition since suffering a stroke of apoplexy June 30. Striken while walking in the fields around his home near Mogul, Mr. Winslett was found unconscious and was rushed to the hospital. His condition continued critical until his death at 7:45 o'clock last night. Mr. Winslett was active in county affairs for a long number of years, having represented his district on the road board until its abolishment by action of the general assembly early in 1933. Friends said he was apparently in good health when he set out across his farm fields Saturday morning, June 30. Mr. Winslett was born in Putnam county July 27, 1862, the son of John and Mary Bickers Winslett. He came to Macon 35 years ago and became connected with the central of Georgia railway. Since his retirement less than 10 years ago, he has been farming in this county. Besides his only son, Mr. Winslett is survived by a grandson, Usher T. Winslett, Jr., a sister, Mrs. Roe Copelan of Madison; two brothers, Arthur and Bingley Winslett, of Greensboro. Additional Comments: The last paragraph was cut off by printer.
