Just as the shades of night had fallen and a peaceful calm was resting over all, we learned that Mrs. T. J. Walker was dead. Every heart was saddened, for she had been a friend to one and all in Brownwood and was beloved by all. Those who had often enjoyed the hospitality so freely extended from her home were made to realize that a friend whose place could not be filled, had passed into a brighter and better land. Though it is hard, God knows best. Let us hope that the voice which told us that "Death is only a dream" lifted the hearts of the bereaved ones to heaven to be comforted and that the Father who alone has the power to comfort them blessed them and will keep tose hearts as his own forever. We are powerless to rob that grief of any of its horror. we can only hope that those left behind will remember the One from whom all comfort comes and remembering, will realize though He slay me, yet I will trust him. Mrs. Walker leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss and to profit by her example. May the blessings of God rest upon them. (Submitted by Barbara Walker Winge, barbarawinge@yahoo.com)
