Born in 1859, Laura Ann Allen was the second of four children born to Turner 
and Matilda Allen who were residents of Morgan county during the compulation 
of the 1870 census. Laura's siblings were Samuel, Sophronia and Catharine. In 
1897 she married Mitchel Martin a man several years her senior. Somewhere 
around 1910 she relocated to Atlanta, Ga where she died in December of 1945.
