Image - Professor William Montgomery RIVERS (1824-1905) of James Island, SC. 
Son of William H. RIVERS and Elizabeth ROYALL of James Island.  Graduate of 
the College of Charleston and brother of Dr. William B. RIVERS of Rivers Hill, 
Oxford, Newton County, GA. Married, first, a Suzie COATES or CAPERS and they 
were the parents of Hallie Elise RIVERS (1850-1935), wife of Martin L. 
RICHTER, Sr. of Madison.  Married second, Mrs. Mary Jane Reneau DANIEL of 
Bethany, Jefferson County, GA, the mother of Alice Elizabeth DANIEL who 
married John C. RICHTER, Sr. of Madison, Morgan County, GA.  

Professor RIVERS and his second wife, Mary Jane RENEAU (1830-1912) are buried 
in the DANIEL family lot in the New Section of the Madison City Cemetery, 
Madison, Morgan County, GA.  Professor RIVERS served in Hampton's LEGION, CSA 
uring the CW.
