WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM BAILEY 
 
 
In the name of God amen:
I, William Bailey of the state of Georgia and County of 
Morgan being sickly and weakly in body but of sound mind 
and memory and calling to mind the morality of man do make 
and ordain this my last will and testament....I give and 
bequeath as follows after my Just debts be paid.
Item
I give to my daughter, Bethany Arnold 25 cents, I give to 
my daughter Ruth Arnold 25 cents, I give to my daughter Alse 
Lewis 25 cents, I give Jeremiah Bailey 25 cents, I give to my 
daughter Elizabeth Bingham 25 cents, I give to my son John 
Bailey 25 cents. I give to my daughter Mary Bingham 25 cents. 
I give to my daughter Temperance Blalock 25 cents, I give the 
land whereon I now live to my sons William and Fuller to be 
equally divided and my will is that my loving wife Mary Bailey 
shall have my negro girl Lile and all the rest of my property of 
every kind for the support of her family during her natural 
life or widowhood and at her death or marriage the said property 
to be equally divided between my daughters, Milley Bailey, 
Zebey Bailey, Gilley Bailey and my sons William Bailey and 
Fuller Bailey and my daughter Daley Bailey and I ordain and 
appoint my wife Mary Bailey and my son William Bailey and my 
sons John Bailey and my son in law James Lewis to Execute this 
my last will and testament. Signed and acknowledged this 5th 
day of February in the year eighteen hundred and eight before us.

Executors: Sons, Jeremiah Bailey and John Bailey; and son in law James Lewis
Witnesses: Edwin Lamberth and Isaac Hand.
