I give & recommend my soul to the hands of Almighty God & my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial. 1st. I give to Polly my dearly beloved daughter now the wife of Wiley White $100 to be raised out of my estate in addition to what I have already given her which is a negro girl Sal, bedstead, bed, & furniture, a chest, saddle & colt. 2nd. Also I give to Jansey my well beloved daughter now the wife of Elbert White $100 to be raised out of my estate in addition to what I have already given her which is a negro girl Eda, bedstead, bed, & furniture, chest, saddle, &c. 3rd. Also my land which I now live on to be sold & Elizabeth Barton my dearly beloved wife to have 1/3 of the money that it sells for or otherwise have it rightly divided & take her 1/3 of the land. Also my plantation tools of all discription & all my other tools with my negroes Ned, Kit, Dilce, Ike, Rachel, Doss, Bob, Nance, Aaron, & Sarah. Also my horses which is 5 head, my stock of cows & hogs, household & kitchen furniture, 2 wagons & gear, a cotton gin, a set blacksmith tools, a gold watch. Also 2 rifle guns & a shot gun,& my crop of corn & fodder &c. Also for the purpose of paying my just debts my present crop of cotton to be cleaned & sent to Augusta & sold & the money put to the use of paying my just debts. Also a note of hand on Thomas Garrett four $25 notes on William H. Ray & a note on Samuel Hemphill & a note on Joseph Tarpley all to be collected & also to be put to the use of paying my debts & if any left it to be equally divided between my wife & my children that is now with her but if not enough then to come from the sale of my other property & after my just debts are all paid then the amount of my estate except my land to be equally divided Elizabeth my wife & my children Rhoda, Anna, William, Joel, Elias, & Beththena Barton by them freely to be possessed & enjoyed. I utterly disallow, revoke, & annul all & every other former testament & confirm this & no other to be my last will & testament.
