Will of Gilly Boon - Morgan Co. GA Submitted by Sara Young hyllsyde@oregontrail.net Will of Gilly Boon Georgia, Morgan County...In the name of God, Amen. I, Gilly Boon, being afflicted and looking at the uncertainty of life - and the certainty of death, and being now sound in mind for my satisfaction do ordain and make this my last will and testament. Item 1st Such property as may be in my possession at the time of my death, which was willed me during my life time by my late husband Sion Boon deceased. And such additional property which was added to it by the consent of my children by him - and for which a receipt is given to his Executor John Robson - all this of course and according to right will be distributed amongst my children by said Sion Boon, all of which it is my will should pass regularly into the hands of said Executor John Robson. If any increase has taken place to said property, it is my will that it should all be disposed of to said children........ - Item 2nd I hereby appoint my son Alexander Hawkins my Executor and trustee, to act according to the best judgement he may possess in managing my affairs. I give and bequeath unto him a negro named Caroline and her child Aaron, a boy, to dispose of them according to his best judgement at public or private sale, and the proceeds of said negroes to be equally divided amongst my three sons Alexander Hawkins, Thomas Hawkins, and William K. Hawkins children, leaving my son Alexander Hawkins to act as trustee for said Thomas Hawkins and William K. Hawkins children I mean all his children at the time such distribution may take place. It is my will that my son Alexander Hawkins receive the proceeds as above named whenever realized in his own hands as trustee, and that he place the amount out at interest - or pay interest himself on whatever sum may be left after paying all my debts, and that he have the entire government, use and payment out to the aforesaid Thomas Hawkins, and the children of William K. Hawkins, at such terms and according as may seem to him proper as trustee. I do not wish the small amount falling to each to be squandered away, or taken to pay any debts they may entail, but for the maintenance and support of the aforementioned children. What debts I may be owing at the time of my death, I wish and request my son Alexander to discharge and pay, taking the sum out of the proceeds of my property aforehand. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine G. Latimer a featherbed and furniture. To my son Alexander also a bed of furniture. To my son Thomas Hawkins a bed of furniture. This to be in charge and under the control of my son Alexander for him and the said Thomas. Such articles of household furniture as may be my own, and not in the receipt as aforementioned, I will ad bequeath to my son Alexander Hawkins for his own use and benefit.
