I Benjamin Cockram being in sound mind & memory do make this my last Will and Testament I give my sole to God the giver of all good It the first I will that all my Just Debts be paid first and the ballance of my property I will and dispose of in the following manner It the 2 I will and bequeath to my son John Cockram the one fourth of the Land whereon I now live to be laid of in a Square in the West Corner also one Bay Mare and my saddle the mare named flower all one bed and Stead by posted one cow and calf the one that now has a young calf one ewe sheep also one sheet and counterpin one sow & pigs It 3 I give to my son Benjamin Cockram one fourth of my land to be laid of in the corner where the four corner is also one horse bridle & saddle the horse of by the name of Prince one heffer one bed stead one sheet & counterpin one sow & pigs all one ewe lamb. It 4 I give and bequeath to my son Banerster Cockram the one forth of the land to be laid of in a square to the Elum Corner also one one horse Ball one Bed bedsted one sheat & counterpin allso two ewes also the cow & calf that he Know has also the hogs I lent him -- It 5 I give and bequeath to my son James Cockram the one forth of the land to be laid of in a square to the hickry Corner also one ewe and lamb. It 6 I will and bequeath John Cockram Bannerster Cockram and Benjamin Cockram twenty barrels of corn to Each also fore hundred weight of pork a peace It 7 I will and bequeath that all the ballance of my property be Sold after twenty days notice given in some publick paper together with one negro woman named Tilly to be sold at the same time and notice at the plantation where on I Know live and the money arising from the Sale to pay my just Debts and the ballance to be equally divided amongst all my children with the Exception of ten Dollars Extry to be given to John Cockram the ballance to be equally divided amongst Samuel Paskill James Cockram Marvill Kelley Bannerster Cockram Jordan Brooks Benjamin Cockram Robert Brooks and John Cockram It 8 I give and bequeath to Ruby Brooks one Bed Bedsted and the furniture which I loaned her sometime ago I Know do constitute and ordain this my last will and testament an anulling all others heretofore maid and revoking all others declaring this to be my last will and testament I Know constitute my trusty friends and appoint Samuel Paskill Bannerster Cockram and Thomas Leverett Senr to be my Executors of this my last will and testament this 23 August 1815 Signed Sealed in the present of me his Trt Cyrus Billingslea Benjamin X Cockram Hartwell Marrable mark his Mathew X Cockram mark Georgia Personally appeared in open court Cyrus Billingslea and Mathew Cockram Morgan County subscribing witness to the within instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Benjamin Cockram of said County deceased maketh oath and saith that they were present and saw the testor sign his name to the Same by making his mark and that he proclaimed it to be his last will and testament and they believed he was in his proper senses and also that they saw Hartwell Marrable Sign his name as a witness to the same together with themselve Sworn to in open court this Cyrus Billingslea 10th January 1816 his John Nesbet Clk Mathew X Cockram mark Recorded the 10 January 1816 John Nesbet Clk (Transcribed with original wording, spelling and punctuation by Mildred M.
