She was the daughter of Pheraby Reson and David Dyer. She married Garland Cornett in Morgan County on August 3, 1845. These newspaper notices and the final returns are part of her estate records. Matilda Caroline Cornett is listed in the Madisonian Newspaper of Morgan County: April 27, 1894 Page 2, Col 3 S. W. Booth has applied to me for permanent letters of administration upon the estate of Mrs. M.C. Cornette deceased. This is therefore to cite all persons concerned to file their objections if any can, to his appointment, on or before the first Monday in May, 1894 as said application will be passed on that day.
