Recorded 8 Jan. 1818 I Joseph Scott of the State of Georgia and County of Morgan In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventeen the 18th day of October being of perfect mind make this my last will and testament. I appoint my son Benjamin Scott, Robert Sharp and Richard K_____ (maybe Kinnow or Keunow) my Executors or administrators. First I will that my beloved wife Ann Scott be Supported By my estate during her natural life. Secondly I will that Such of my Stock of horses and meat cattle as may be considered by my executors as surplus be disposed of by sale. Thirdly I will that immediately after my death my estate (except) my land) be appraised by my executors or such persons as they may appoint and that such of my children as are of age receive two thirds of the then appraised value. My son Samuel Scott accounting for the portion he had received the land whereon he lives to be accounted for at two hundred dollars. The remainder of my estate to be kept together and managed by my executors as they may think best each child receiving the above mentioned two thirds of the first appraised value as they become of age untill the youngist shall become of age then each child to receive their full portion. At which time I wish my land to be sold and the product to be equally divided among my children. I witness wherof I hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date first above written. Sharp two of the subronbing witnesses to the within witnessed of writing purporting to be the last will and testamint of Joseph Scott deceased and say on oath that they were present and saw the testator sign and seal the within will and heard him proclaim it to be the last will and testament, and at the same time saw Samuel Sharp the other suscenbing witness sign his name to said will, and they believe he was at the same time in his proper sinces.
