Item 1st: It is my will that all my estate shall be kept together on the farm where I at present reside & the farm be kept up as though I was living. The crop or crops after being disposed should the proceeds be more than sufficient to defray the expenses of the farm & the support of my family the surplus to be applied as my executors may think best until my youngest son William A. Swift arrives at the age of 21 years. If my executors should think it best to discontinue the farm they are at liberty to do so at which time I wish my farm to be sold with stocks of all kinds household & kitchen furniture, plantation utensils, & equal division made among all my children after my wife Lucy Swift's dower to wit: Thomas Swift, Elias Swift, John Swift, William A. Swift, Bethena Swift, & Mary Swift. Item 2nd: The farm at the time of William A. Swift becoming of age if kept up shall be sold stock of all kinds, plantation utensils &c. If the farm &c should be sold before my son William A. Swift arrives at age my executors shall take charge of & send him to school his proportion of the estate shall be kept in hands of my executors until he becomes of age. Item 3rd: If my daughter Bethena & Mary Swift or either of them shall marry before my estate is divided, it is my wish they have a proportion which shall be appointed by my executors. Item 4th: I will to my son Thomas Swift $10 in addition to what property he has already received which shall be his full portion of my estate. Item 5th: My son Elias Swift having received $750 in property which amount shall be deducted from the valuation of his proportion of my estate.
