MURRAY COUNTY GA Deed Pitts, Elijah to Macedonia Baptist Church File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Shirley Bennett" <1_ou@prodigy.net> http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/murray//.txt Georgia, Murray County Warranty Deed This indenture made this the 14th day of Elijah Pitts December 1900 between Elijah Pitts of to the County of Murray and the State of Georgia The Deacons of the first part and the Deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church of Christ of the county of Murray 2 acres of land and the state of Georgia of the second part witness :that the said Elijah Pitts in consideration of the one dollar in hand said receipt whereof is acknowledged has this day sold and conveyed to the said Deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church of Christ the following described real estate: Two acres off of lot 227 in the 8th district and the 3rd section it being on the North side of said lot somewhere near the center of the lot joining A.B. Martin. Hereby warranty the title there of against the claims of all persons. This land is for the purpose of building a church house on and is to belong to the church and for that use and if said Macedonia Church goes down said land is to go back to the original lot. In witness hereof the said Elijah Pitts has hereinto set his hand and affixed his seal and delivered these presents this day and year first written, signed sealed and delivered in the presents of W. L. Smith and H.W. Baglet, J.P.
