This Indenture made and entered into this twenty eighth day of December in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight hundred and seventy four between John H. Massey of the State and County aforesaid of the one part and Caroline Massey wife of the said John H. Massey for and in consideration of th sum of Five dollars to him in hand paid the reciept whereof is hereby acknowledged and for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he has and bequest to his said wife Caroline Massey hath given granted and conveyed and dosth by these presents, give grant and convey to the said Caroline Massey her heirs and assigns all those tracts or parcels of land situate lying and being more or less the same being the lands on which the said John H. Massey now resides, also five head mules and one horse, twenty head of cattle, twenty head of hogs, all house hold and kitchen furniture, and plows, gier and farming tools now owned by the said John H. Massey, to have and hold the said property unto her, the said Caroline Massey for and during her natural life free from the debts contracts or liabelities of her present or any future husband and at the death of the said Caroline the said property to go to and become the property of our son William C. D. Massey and his children and it further understood that the said John H. Massey is to have the use and enjoyment of said property for and during his natural life and the said John H. Massey for himself his heirs execution and adminstration will warrant and defend the title of the property hereby conveyed unto her the said Caroline Massey her heirs and assigns forever to her own proper benefit and behoof forever in Fee Simple. In testimony whereof the said John H. Massey hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and year above written. John H. Massey SS Signed, Sealed and Delievered in the presents of D.
