We were married in Montgomery, AL in 1861 He enlisted in Co. K originally 3rd Ga Battn ? ? early in 1862. Enlisted in Columbus GA. Served until the close of the war. Surrendered in North Carolina under Gen. Joe Johnston Present at time his company surrendered. Husband died Apr 5, 1895 in Columbus, Georgia Applying due to age and poverty. In this condition about 3 eyars since shortly after my husband's death. No occupation since husband's death. Can't earn by own labor. No property, real or personal. None left by husband. Resided in Muscogee Co in 1899 and 1900. Supported since husband's death by my son-in-law, T.F. Farley Supported on ? month. I contributed nothing. Two sons who do nothing for me; 4 daughters; 3 of them who have great difficulty in caring ? ?. I coul dnot get along without aid fro my son-in-law. 30th March 1901 Catherine X McArdle WITNESSES T.E. Blanchard and S.H. Connor, support Mrs. Catherine McArdle's application. Both reside in Columbus, GA. Connor answers yes and has known her since 1854. She resides in Columbus, GA here then & since Ireland. Born in County Sligo. I was acquainted with husband. In 1861 he resided in Montgomery. 1861 he married Catherine Linney. He was born in County Louth, Ireland. I knew him since 1850. Blanchard knew him since 1862 Connor knows the company and regiment by his ? knowldge; Blanchard knows because he belonged to same regiment and knew ? He performed his duties all the while ? enlistment. His company surrendered in North Carolina under Gen'l Johnston. We know he was present from what he and others told us. Died Apr 5, 1895 in Columbus. Lived there since the War. She is quite aged and infirm unable to ? Basically supported by son-in-law. T.E. Blanchard J.H. Connor Sworn and subscribed 30 March 1901 Wm Redo Jr., Ordinary AFFADAVIT OF PHYSICIAN Jno. M. Crook, M.D. and J.J. Darby, M.D. have known applicant, Catherine McArdle. She is a constant sufferer from chronic rheumatism together with the infirmities of old age renders her unable to make a living for herself. 30 March 1901 Wm.
