Muscogee COUNTY GA Company F - 64th Regiment Field Staff and Band File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by : ESandyBL@aol.com Sandy Lunsford http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/muscogee/military/civilwar/rosters/f64band.txt ROSTER OF FIELD, STAFF AND BAND 64th REGIMENT GEORGIA INFANTRY C. S. A. ARMY OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA NOTE:This regiment was assigned to the Dept. of S.C., Ga., and Fla., from the time of its creation until after February 1864, and stationed at Camp Cobb, Quincy, Fla. It was then assigned to the Army of Northern Virginia until the close of the war. NOTE:The 64th was one of the last units formed; Georgia provided 65 numbered 1 - 66 but with no 33rd. It spent most of its time in GA including a stint guarding prisoners at Macon that resulted in the Yankees placing charges against some of its officers. The 64th was sent to VA in the winter/spring of 64 and assigned to Wright/Sorrel's Brigade, Anderson/Mahone's Division, Hills Corps and participated in the Eastern war from the Overland Campaign to the end. I know of no specific sources on the unit, but you can follow it in the OR and by following the units to which it was subordinate once it was assigned to the Army of Northern Virginia.
