A Former Columbus Citizen is Seriously Hurt News reached the city the morning of an accident which occurred on the S. A. M. road near Montgomery, in which one man was killed and two were seriously wounded. One of the latter was Mr. Leonard Ogletree, who formerly lived in this city, and has many friends here who will regret to hear of his misfortune. Mr. Ogletree was the engineer of a construction train and yesterday afternoon detached his engine from the train for the purpose of making a quick run to a water tank. His fireman and the flagman of the train were also aboard the engine, which after going a short distance, jumped the track and was overturned. The flagman was killed and the fireman and Mr. Ogletree badly hurt. Mr. Ogletree having a leg so badly lacerated that it had to be amputated. Additional Comments: This clipping is attached to the autograph book of Eugenia Moore. She married Henry (Harry) Crawford who was in a train wreck in late 1800s. I have a photograph of this wreck and wonder if this article refers to that incident.
