The Weekly Constitution February 10, 1891
Columbus, Ga., February 6--Clarence McKleroy, the negro who was convicted on 
the 22d of January for the murder of his paramour, Annie Reed, by cutting her 
throat on the night of July 7th last, was sentenced to be hanged on the 26th of 
this month.  A motion for a new trial was made by his attorneys, and the 
hearing set for the 14th of February, instant.
This afternoon McKleroy made a confession.
