J.W. Howard 70 Years Old Venerable Baptist Minister Celebrates His Birthday Pleasantly The Rev. J.W. Howard, the oldest Baptist minister in Columbus, and who is universally beloved, regardless of creed or denomination, celebrated his seventieth birthday quite pleasantly Thursday at his home. Gathered with him and his wife were their entire family of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and it was indeed a happy day with this venerable man of God. At 12:30 o'clock all were invited into the dining room, where a most bountiful repast was served. Seated around the long table were the Rev. and Mrs. Howard with all their children to bless them in their ripe old age. After the bountiful and delightful dinner, Mr. Howard enjoyed a game of I-spy with the children and incidentally challenged any man present to throw him down on this, his 70th birthday, a challenge which it may be stated, was not accepted.
