They threw him down, tied a towel over his mouth and tied his hands and feet with a rope. They took his pistol, they key to the outer door and a small amount of money from his pocket and then took their departure. No effort has been made to capture them. Those who escaped were Wm. Courtney, white, forgery; J.W. Livingston, white, burglary; J.C. Jenkins, white, forgery; Willis McAffee, burglary; George Brooks, murder; Scip Williams, assault and battery.
