Jerry W. Ammons February 14, 1941 - October 21, 2010 OGLETHORPE, GA— Jerry W. 
Ammons, 69, of Oglethorpe, GA, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at St. Francis 
Hospital in Columbus, GA. A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM 
Sunday, October 24, 2010, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Marion County, 
Georgia with Reverend Raymond Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers will 
be Todd Ammons, Bryan Ammons, Jeremy Ammons, Shane Ammons, Butch Thompson, and 
Bucky Wiggins. The family will receive friends at Tante Funeral Home on 
Saturday evening from 6- 8 PM. Mr. Ammons was born February 14, 1941, in 
Marion County, GA, to Otis Eugene Ammons, Sr. and Ann Elizabeth Pilcher 
Ammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, 
Exie Ruth Wann, Mary Ammons Wiggins, and Margie Ammons. He is survived by a 
son, Timothy Ammons of Americus, GA, by a daughter, Andrea Kerr (Charlie) of 
Cypress, TX; by four brothers, Otis "Pete" Eugene Ammons, Jr. of Cataula, GA, 
J. R. Ammons of Smithville, GA, Clayton "Pokey" Ammons of Buena Vista, GA, and 
Avery Ammons of Box Springs, GA; and by one sister, Dianne Thompson of Buena 
Vista, GA. Three grandchildren, Jake Kerr, Kasey Kerr, and Rebekah Kerr also 
survive. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
