(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net March 8, 2010, 8:54 am the Northwest Arkansas Times 1-12-2005 Mary Lee Becton Mary Lee Becton, 81, of Little Rock, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, in Little Rock. She was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Columbus, Ga., to Henry B. Hug and Myrtle Toliver Hug. She graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor of education degree and taught in schools in Alabama and Mississippi. She was a substitute school teacher in the Little Rock public schools and at the Arkansas School for the Blind. She was a church member her entire life. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dr. Paul Becton Sr.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Paul Becton Jr. and Melissa Becton of Rogers, Ark., Ric Becton and Marianne Becton of Summerfield, Fla., and Dr. David Becton and Debbie Becton of Little Rock; two sisters, Frances Sylvester of Opelika, Ala., and Theresa Borders of La Grange, Ga.; her caregivers, Elfrieda Jones and Tina Sanders; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church in Little Rock with Dr. Randy Hyde. Burial was at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark.
