Columbus, Ga., October 2- Mr. James A. Bradford, an aged and prominent citizen, died today from the effects of poison taken by mistake. He had been taking tonic of gensing [sic] for sometime, and to-day before eating dinner, walked to the mantlepiece, where the bottle usually sat, and taking by mistake a small bottle containing a powerful neuralgia liniment, took a dose of it. The mistake was soon discovered, physicians summoned and every possible effort was made to relieve himn, but without avail, and he died in about two hours after. He was grand chaplain of the I. O. O. F. of the state, and treasurer of the board of trustees of the county asylum for the poor, also senior member of the firm of Bradford & Osborne, painters. The funeral takes place from St. Luke's church to-morrow evening.
