Father Kills His Son

Because he said he was going to kill him, coupling the threat with an 
opprobrious epitnet, R.H. Burton, aged 56 years, a carpenter, drove a keen 
knife into the heart of his 19-year-old son, Jesse C. Burton at his home in 
Columbus Saturday.  The boy died in a few minutes and the father is now in the 
Muscogee jail to face the charge of murder, the coroner’s verdict being 
rendered to that effect.

Indicted for Murder of Son

The grand jury at Columbus has indicted R.H. Burton on a charge of murder.  

Burton recently stabbed his young son to death in the presence of his mother, 
because, he claims, his son cursed him and threatened his life.
